this is a great layer to add warmth but not bulk. i wear mine all the time during the fall and spring over a t-shirt and it keeps me warm. in the winter, i've worn it over long sleeves as an extra layer. probably not great for really cold weather... tried it out in sub-zero temps and it didn't do the trick but neither did my coat.
