Best helmet I've ever wornMar 04, 2011
By phelectric I went to a few stores to try on helmets before I decided on this one. I put a bunch on my head and some were uncomfortable, and some were tolerable. I even tried the cheaper Smith helmets in order to save some money, and I tried to avoid the Maze. But the guy at the store forced me to put the Maze on my head, and I'm glad he did. It was the lightest helmet I've ever tried on, which is factual because I later found out it's the lightest helmet on the market. Now that sounds great and all, but when you're doing a sport that requires constant moving of your head, the weight of a helmet will really start to bug you. This helmet won't even be noticeable; I forget I'm even wearing it when I'm on the hill.
The ventilation is good; although I haven't worn it in warm conditions yet. I've worn it in the house, and I can feel the air vents working. That worried me because I figured it would be really cold but after a long day in -18C I found it to be perfect; no beanie underneath or anything. Overall, I didn't think about what was on my head at all, which is perfect. And it looks good. Works well with my Spy Soldier goggles, and doesn't feel like there's a helmet on my head at all. I love this helmet and would recommend it to anyone.

Great helmet with one small problemDec 27, 2010
By CIB1987 I really like this helmet, it fits well and hardly notice that it's there. Haven't fallen with it, so we'll see how my head fairs when I do. The one problem I have with it is the goggle clip. It is a small piece of plastic that is virtually non-existent and when I flipped my goggles up on the lift, they slid right off my helmet but thankfully to a spot on a trail I could get to. Piece of advice: If you don't want to lose your goggles while at least 30ft over the woods, don't take them off while wearing the Maze helmet. Other than that, I'll be using it until it falls apart or I crack it.

Nice HelmetFeb 23, 2010
By M. Olechowski One of the smallest & lightest helmets on the market. Honest the shipping box seems to weigh more. Have the basic adjustments, chin, ear area, but nothing fancy. But even without anything extra, it fits nice and snug just like it should.
A few words of warning. It seems to run small. I ordered a large which normally would fit, and while I could get it on, it was way too thight. xl fit perfect. This is different from some other helmets I tired on, the giro xl for example, on my head felt way too large.
2/28/2010 Update:
I finally got around to actually riding in it, and learned a few things.
Tts a great helmet, very easy to forgot you are wearing it. It fits my head well and never got in the way.
There is one very slight issue. And I would have not noticed except I was renting equipment, and it was VERY crowded. In order to save weight, the designers/engineers really looked at everything, and hench the goggle clip is very minimal. I would have perfered something that actually locks in, because your goggles can fall out of the clip.

Smith Optics Unisex Sports HelmetDec 22, 2010
By Scott W Buying on line without first trying on a helmet left me a bit concerned, but it fits perfect and is exactly what I wanted. Comfortable, great removable liner, and it looks good. Can't wait to hit Whistler in February, will need to go local to Big Bear soon to give it a test run or two. Smith has been around along time and makes great gear.

Great for Winter BikingApr 10, 2010
By K. Mills I use this helmet for winter biking, rather than for skiing. The weight is about identical to a bicycle helmet. Ears stay nice and warm, with a full inch of insulation over them. The amount of ventilation provided is perfect. Having the clip in back to secure goggles is a feature that you are not going to find on any bicycle helmet, even those with a 'winterization kit' installed.
