The details could be betterDec 15, 2009
By C. Ullman This coat is quite elegant in shape, which makes the few sloppy details hard to understand. It is a water- and windproof outer coat over a thin down coat. The inner down coat is not pretty, and it shows prominently at the collar of the coat. It should have been covered with a nicer fabric at the neck so that the part that shows doesn't look sloppy. Also, the sleeves of the inner coat are secured to the outer coat at the cuff by only one loop and stick out in an unsightly way when I first put the coat on, necessitating some adjusting each time so that they are hidden. On the plus side, because the coat is windproof it is remarkably warm for something so thin. It is perfect for New York City winters, where rain is more frequent than snow and temperatures in the 30's are the norm. I don't know if it would work as well in a colder climate as the down layer is thin.

sheds down like crazyMar 22, 2011
By N. Volkman I want to love this coat, it's so great in so many ways, but i am completely covered head to toe in feathers within minutes of putting it on. The feathers also push through the outside of the coat and make holes in it. It is quite unsightly, and disappointing considering the cost of the coat.
Does no one else have this problem with this coat???
I've read reviews everywhere and no one mentions it.
Perhaps my coat is defective? I purchased it from the Patagonia store in my neighborhood, and it was the last one they had in stock. Perhaps there's a reason it was the last one.

Patagonia tres ParkaJan 17, 2011
By etl Parka is very warm and stylish. However the fit is slim. I am 5'4'' and 110 lbs and I bought a small. It's comfortable with a light tshirt and sweater but if you try to wear a heavy sweater, it definetly fits snug. The other complaint is that the pockets are very shallow. Your hand fits in it only to the middle of your palm. Who would make a parka that you can't fit your hands into the pockets? A definete design flaw. I'm afraid to put a cell phone or keys in them although they do zip shut. Other than that it is a great coat. Not sure if I'm keeping it because of the pockets...
Very impressedApr 01, 2012
By raspberry I am very happy with this product! It's just what I was looking for, a slim fit, elegant winter jacket, warm but not too poofy. I had read some reviews on the patagonia web-page regarding the pockets being too small, but I disagree, if the pockets would be larger, then the jacket wouldn't look as elegent anymore.
Great winter coatJan 09, 2011
By EJ Shopper This is a great coat (or coats). It's warm, functional and very well made. The inner layer is so soft and can be worn by itself on warmer days (and looks good alone). The outer layer is water proof and I have worn it by itself as a rain coat, even though its a little big without the inner layer. Worn together it's the perfect everyday coat for winter and stylish enough to wear when dressed up. The pockets are angled in a way that you have to keep them zipped if you don't want to loose anything. Otherwise, its wonderful.
