Just can't say how good these feel on a hike. They are warm and very comfortable. Good for hiking, skiing and all around use. I love them!

By Allan Week 1 skiing, no Capilene 3...freezing on the slopes! There were 40mph wind gusts and blowing snow, and even though I had FOUR layers on, I was still cold.
Week 2 skiing, with Capilene 3...warm! Though not as much wind, it was probably hovering around 20 degrees until the sun came out about halfway through the day. I was warm after one run, and stayed comfortably so the rest of the day.
I like that there is a zipper for when it gets a little too toasty, much nicer than not having one. The fit is "fitted" but not tight or too snug. The one thing I don't like so much is the length. It's a little long for my taste, though it makes tucking into ski pants easier. But if I'm not skiing, and don't want to tuck it in, it's a little long for my liking.
Overall I recommend.
