Best Low Fluorine Wax for the MoneyMar 24, 2010
By S. Karl This is the best low-fluorine wax for the price that I've used. I have always ironed it in for better performance(followed with a good scrape and brushing). You can rub this on, but it is SO much better when ironed in(like ANY wax is). This was much faster than similarly priced low-flouros. My temp range was 25-35F on Michigan snow that is always wet from being lake effect snow.
Other similar products used: Paraffin/Hydrocarbon plain- Dakine Nitrous, Toko Universal/Cold/warm waxes. Low-Fluoro waxes: Dakine(the deodorant looking one with cork top)
I refuse to pay the outrageous prices for Swix products if you were wondering(Even their base paraffins(hydrocarbon) are expensive let alone anything with fluorine in it. I wax often as possible and on a college-kid budget I stick to the budget friendly waxes that allow me to keep my skis in tip-top condition more often than I would be able to with the expensive brands.
