Ideal for training and leisure, and racing use in the presence of low-medium humidity (30 - 60 percent) or as a base before applying perfluorinated P4 waxes. Snow temperature -9 to -2 degrees C. For best results use an iron to drip the wax along the base. Set the iron temperature so the wax melts easily but doesn't smoke (130 - 160 degrees C). Make 2-3 passes with the iron along the base to spread the wax and completely cover the base. Wait at least 10 minutes for the wax to harden, then scrape excess wax off the base using a sharp plexi scraper. Free the base structure with a stiff manual or roto horsehair or nylon brush, then polish the base structure with a soft manual or soft roto horsehair or nylon brush. | | | Features: | |

very hard cold wax, but has it's use in any tempDec 31, 2011
By Howard L Lambert Granted, I've only been doing my own waxing for 5 years, but Maplus is the fastest wax I've ever used. However, I made the mistake of buying this cold snow bar and, boy, was it difficult to scrape off.
The good is, even though our snow doesn't get cold enough for this level wax, I found, if I rub it on ("crayon") the base's edges and top that with all temp wax, they mix together during the ironing for a longer lasting wax job...no extra effort/scraping involved.
The bad is it's taking me a long time to use it up this way and it's oxidizing on the outer layer of the bar (gets a crusty, glittery look).

While this is recommended for intermediate temperatures, -2 to -8 Celsius, it is a really hard wax. Thus it cannot be rubbed on, and you will need a hard bronze brush to remove it in order to apply new wax, same or different.
I will have to try it on really cold weather.
