Great gear bag.Aug 12, 2010
By E. Soden I skydive and if I have to travel it means I have to take a lot of gear with me. My gear is well over 50 lbs in total. This gives me a way to have all my gear in a single package but allows me to break it in half when I have to check it so I don't go over-weight.
The price is right for the quality. Wheels are rugged and roll well on gravel and other non smooth surfaces.
Great bag.

limited lifetime warrantyJul 02, 2010
By ravi doctor The zipper on the luggage broke. I have been using the convertible for the last four years. Contacted the warranty dept.and was told they do not fix zippers. I asked what the warranty did cover and was told that under normal wear and tear if something broke it would not be covered only if it was a manufacturing defect. I asked if a zipper broke would that be considered a manufacturing defect and was told no. I asked if the luggage was one year old and the zipper broke would it be covered and was told yes. Then I asked that the reason my bag was not covered was due to the age of the bag and was told yes. So then I asked what does "Lifetime Warranty" mean then was told only if the luggage was around one year old then they would back up the warranty. I then said that is misleading to say "Liftime" with warranty. I explained that when I bought Patagonia, REI or North Face products they fix or replace without any questions- their response was "we are not that kind of companies". I was told quite rudely they could not help. By the way they have changed the product and it has actually become more difficult to separate or connect together.
Bag BummerNov 12, 2010
By Erin Patricia Quigley I bought this bag to replace a previous model, which I LOVE, but which is finally giving up the ghost after seeing quite a few cargo holds and luggage handlers. My main fear is that the zipper which holds the two parts of the bag together will give, leaving only two buckled straps in charge of keeping the separate elements together. Apparently replacing/repairing this zipper is not considered part of the LIFETIME warranty. Hmmm. Because it's a large bag, each side of the bag can get pretty heavy, and a couple of straps and some velcro around the thing does NOT do the job. On a recent trip, TSA had even failed to re-buckle the straps. Luckily, the zipper held. Also, I used to be able to slide something (Camera tripod, ie) in between the two sides and zip it in, which was great for last-minute additions. Imagine my dismay when the new bag arrived yesterday, but doesn't even HAVE a zipper to hold the bag together. Traveling with this bag will guarantee that at least one part of it gets lost. There's no substantial way to lock the two pieces together. You might as well just tie a couple pieces of webbing around your bag and hope for the best. This is a horrible design mod, obviously conceived by someone who doesn't travel seriously like I do (50Kmiles+ per year). It gets 2 stars because even though I don't like the design, it is well-manufactured with quality materials. I'm bummed that I have to find a new bag after getting so attached to Dakine's earlier version. I ordered 2 of these, and am returning both. Lame.
We love these thingsJul 09, 2010
By K. Properties We not only have a set of these bags for ourselves, but we give them as wedding gifts to really good friends and have them embroidered with their last name. This piece as well as all the other Dakine Luggage is strong, durable and stylish, can't say a bad thing about it.
Pefect!May 25, 2010
By Issabella I do not regret buying this bag. I've been on 3 trips since I received it and there are no signs of damages as yet. It's not too big nor too small, it's the perfect size. I was able to pack 50lbs with no problems and I had a lot more packing space available. I love the idea that you could split it into 2 separate bags if needed. This color/pattern also stands out; I could recognize my bag from a distance :)
