Great addition to the surf kitMay 02, 2009

I wanted to test this out for 6 months before reviewing it, to see how it held up to the surfing lifestyle. And I have to say I'm impressed. This bag holds everything you need for a dawn or dusk patrol. I love having all my stuff in one place---just grab and go when the surf is up.
The large, tarp-lined lower section has a high-quality dual zipper that opens the bag on all three sides so you can flip up the top section and stow your gear. I can easily fit a full wetsuit, leash, booties, towel, thin blanket (for changing on) and still have room for a couple of rashguards and/ or a spring suit. Plenty of room. The vents on the two short sides are key because they help the wet stuff air out. I also have a collapsible bucket which I use to rinse my feet off and stow my wetsuit in. It's nice b/c I can put the dripping wetsuit in the bucket and fit both inside the duffel.
The three top sections are also roomy. I can fit a pair of shoes, a full change of clothes plus a hoody or some sweat pants, flip flops, extra trunks, wax, extra leashes and more. You could easily stash a soft cooler in one section with some cold beverages and snacks. There is a zippered pocket in one of the top sections for stashing small things.
So far the duffel has held up well to regular use. The zippers are all large and easy to pull. Straps and handles can carry a good amount of weight. I really can't find anything bad to say about this product, which is why I'm giving it five stars for now. I'll update again in another 6 months.
