I bought this headlamp for an overnight hotel stay where I would be sharing a room with someone else. It works great, the dim setting is just fine for reading a book and if you have poor eyesight the bright will do just fine.
The headband expands quite a bit so if you have a big head it'll fit. It's snug but not binding nor does it feel like you're head is being pinched off.
Definitely recommend it, love the ability to tilt it to almost any angle. Would recommend to home mechanics that need a light but can't spare an extra hand/arm.

I have owned this headlamp for a few years now. I think I've replaced the batteries twice. I use it camping and walking the dogger. I've also found it is excellent for working on my Jeep - it stays on, stays out of the way, and lights up a nice area even when I'm rolling around underneath. It is very comfortable and I sometimes forget I have it on if I turn it off but leave it on my head. The band adjusts well and stays in place, even when wearing a winter hat! One great thing I love is the push-button switch: it dims the light if you hold it down, but best of all I have never found it on when I pulled it out of my bag! The rubber push-button is recessed and has enough resistance that it resists getting turned on by my gear during the daytime when it's packed!

Light it bright and crisp, strap stays where it should. I bought these for grilling and walking my dog at night. It serves those purposes well. The variable brightness feature is nice as well.

I bought this head lamp last summer in Tucson,Az before I traveled to Washington state and lived in the woods for almost three months. Walking the trails at night was very disorientating unless you had a good head lamp. I lost count how many times i helped lost hippies find their way in the woods. After we left Washington, I was living in a school bus with a bunch of hippie kids. The bus ended up dying in Utah, but I used this head lamp for many oil changes and engine repairs during our trip. Still have this head lamp now, just as handy as before. Especially for skateboarding at night. :) And I'm taking it on the road again this summer hitchhiking with my brother across the U.s. Will update more during out journey. Thank you Black Diamond for providing a quality, functional product. I am very satisfied with this. And I will never buy a head lamp at Walmart or anywhere else again. You now have a life long customer.

People think it's weird that I bought a head lamp, but it sure beats holding a flashlight. Great for camping, BBQ'ing, looking for something in the garage, whatever... I haven't really used it too extensively, but I seems durable enough and does a fine job lighting what's in front of you. I especially like that it can tilt, that comes in very handy.
Only complaint that I have is that I wish that the tilting mechanism worked a little more smoothly. You have to use a little muscle to get it tilted.
