Great light for the priceJun 30, 2011
By tela This light is really good. It is simple and light, but yet still offers great features.
I love that it has two lights, one on each side, and a large one in the middle.
The two lights are nearly perfect for close-up work. They offer focus and depth-perception that a single LED just can't offer.
The single LED in the center is very white and very bright. Fantastic output.
The best part of this headlamp is the dimming feature. Just hold down the button after you turn it to the mode you want and it dims down, and will flash when it's at its dimmest. Then click again and it brightens back up. This works in both modes. Very nice idea since sometimes out in the boonies, your eyes have adjusted to the darkness and you don't need much light, and you don't anger your campmates quite as easily.
My only complaint of this unit is the tilt feature. It limits precision aiming because of the distance between the notches. Sometimes the light is just slightly off from where you need it to be.
Not really a complaint, but if you turn the unit off and on too quickly since you want to change modes, you can easily turn on the flasher mode. Not a big deal though.
I ordered the ultra white because it was cheaper but got the dark brown for some reason. I don't mind though.
This is probably one of the best bang-for-buck lights out there right now.

great product for around the house / reading a bookJan 31, 2012

I bought this because my Coleman headlamp's switch broke. I use a headlamp to do various things around the house like, BBQ / grill at night, fix things around the house that require my two hands for things other than a flashlight, and mostly for reading in bed at night. This light is PERFECT for those things. It has a high and low intesity light settings and both of those settings are able to be dimmed, which is great for battery conservation and providing the perfect amount of light needed for your situation. Great overall product!

Sweet headlamp at a good price.Apr 18, 2011
By C Miller This is the first headlamp that I have owned, and I am very impressed with its quality and features. I have used it once camping and a bunch of times around the house, and it works great.
The lamp has two modes, a single double-power LED which is very bright, and two regular LEDs. To switch from one mode to another you must turn the lamp off then back on again. Pressing the button 3 times consecutively will cause the lamp to flash repeatedly, which could come in handy walking at night or in an emergency. Holding the button causes the light to dim, which is great for reading at night without disturbing a tent mate.
The band is elastic, very stretchy, and simple to adjust. The lamp can be tilted downwards, giving it 4 possible positions for added flexibility. Wearing it is comfortable enough, but I have not yet used it for extended periods. It is very stable on my head, although it seems a little heavy to run with.
Overall, its a good quality lamp for the price that should last me a few years.
Great!Jan 03, 2012
By mp2011 Ive just replaced a 10 year old headlamp that I loved and never knew how much better these things are now a days. When I have this new headlamp on, it is like daylight out.. great, not heavy at all on the head, love it.
Functional but not greatMay 19, 2011
By Chris Lindsay The Black Diamond Cosmo works as advertised, and is a decent headlamp for the price. I had a few problems with it, specifically the click functions (there is only one button) and instead of turning off, mine seems to only click through strobe and dimness modes, and never actually turn all the way off.
Spend a few more bucks and get one of their higher end models.
