Keeps You Dry Like No OtherMar 11, 2012

This hardshell has proved itself in everything from mist to downpours to snow. If your concern is staying dry no matter what nature throws at you this is what you are looking for. Great materials and construction make me confident this jacket will last me a long time. The adjustment of the hood is top notch allowing it to stay put in some pretty stiff winds.
It's easy to discuss how great this jacket is and I'm sure there are reviews that will reinforce that so I'll focus here on the downsides as I see them.
First, the material is loud. You will not be sneaking up on many people while wearing this. Second, this is a hardshell and works perfectly as one. However, if you are looking for warmth you will need a thermal layer under this. Third, the cut is shorter than other shells. This is no problem for me as that is what I wanted, but if you have a longer torso or want a jacket that hangs below the seat of your pants you may want to look at another product. Lastly, the pockets are great while in a harness or wearing a waistbelt on a pack, but if you just want somewhere to keep you hands they are not ideal. Also, along the lines of keeping warm, the pockets do not keep your hands warm as they are unlined like the rest of the jacket. Gloves are needed when wearing this on cold days.
If none of these points are dealbreakers for you I heartily recommend this jacket.
